How Seasons Work

The season cycle every server goes through: pre-season, eight weeks of war, settlement, the off-season, and what you keep.

Every server runs through the same numbered seasons in order. Each season brings a new map, its own resources and buildings, new hero upgrades, and a different style of war. Pick your season from the list above for the details.

The cycle

PhaseLengthWhat happens
Pre-season1–2 weeksDaily preview goals, Season Boosts revealed, often a Capitol Conquest to pick a President
Season8 weeksSeasonal buildings and resources, city and stronghold war, weekly hero releases
SettlementWeek 8Captures stop, rankings lock, rewards are handed out
Off-seasonSeveral weeksCelebration events, the Black Market, Champion Duel, Transfer Surge

Things that happen every season

  • Seasonal resources and buildings. Each season has its own (Immune Protein, Coal, Mithril, Stone, Coffee, Spore and more). They're all removed when the season ends, and leftovers convert into Profession EXP.
  • A seasonal "resistance". Virus, cold, curse and so on. If yours is below what an enemy needs, your damage collapses. Keeping it up is always a top priority.
  • Three hero releases, usually in weeks 1, 3 and 6. Seasons 1–5 gave Exclusive Weapons, and Season 6 added Awakening.
  • One SSR hero promoted to UR, usually from week 3. You need the hero at 5★ plus that season's Legendary Hero Badge.
  • Professions (Engineer or War Leader). Each season adds its own seasonal skills, which are refunded at the end.

Settlement and what you keep

  • Kept: Exclusive Weapons, Awakenings, promoted heroes, profession levels, Core Tactics Cards, recruitment tickets, and anything in your normal inventory.
  • Removed: seasonal buildings and their power, seasonal resources (converted to Profession EXP), seasonal profession skills (points refunded).
  • Alliance rewards are handed out by the R5 or Butler. Each player can receive only one, so switching alliances near the end doesn't get you a second set.

The off-season

Usually a Celebration with Bingo tasks, the Black Market (where the season's Exclusive Weapon shards show up for free), Champion Duel, and events such as Zombie Siege and Alliance Exercise returning.

Transfer Surge (from Season 2 onward) opens around the end of each season. Moving costs 50 tickets (the alliance store gives 3 a week), and your seat color is based on your highest-ever power.
