Goldvein War: Rules, Points and Winning Strategy (3 vs 5)
The four-week, 3-vs-5 warzone event of the Season 5 off-season: how factions form, what every building is worth, how bombs work, and how to win as an attacker or a defender.
At a glance
| What | A 4-week war between the 8 warzones of your Season 5 map |
| Sides | Defenders: 3 warzones vs Attackers: 5 warzones |
| When | Week 1 is faction formation (no fighting). Battles are on Saturdays, 23:00–24:00 server time, in weeks 2, 3 and 4 |
| Goal | Attackers destroy buildings with bombs to earn Destruction Points. Defenders stop them |
| Win | Attackers need about 5,001 of the 10,001 points on the map. Defenders win by holding them below that |
| Big swing | The Golden Palace (week 4) is worth 3,505 points on its own, about 70% of what Attackers need |
How the sides are formed (week 1)
The two strongest warzones are made the faction leaders automatically, one per side. Then they pick teammates:
| Day | What happens |
|---|---|
| Tuesday | The Goldvein War page opens |
| Wednesday | The Defender leader picks 1 warzone (24 hours) |
| Thursday–Friday | The Attacker leader picks 2 warzones (48 hours) |
| Saturday | The Defender leader picks 1 more warzone (24 hours) |
| Sunday | Sides are final. The 2 warzones left over join the Attackers |
You can't refuse an invite, and if a leader misses their window the game picks for them.
The buildings and what they're worth
Buildings unlock week by week. An Attacker bomb that reaches 100% destroys the building for good and banks its points. A building that survives keeps its bomb progress and can be fought over again next week.
| Building | Points each | How many | Opens | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Small Stronghold | 40 | 20 | Battle week 1 (event week 2) | 800 |
| Large City | 175 | 4 | Battle week 1 | 700 |
| Medium Stronghold | 211 | 12 | Battle week 2 (event week 3) | 2,532 |
| Military Fortress | 616 | 4 | Battle week 2 | 2,464 |
| Golden Palace | 3,505 | 1 | Battle week 3 (event week 4) | 3,505 |
| Whole map | 41 | 10,001 |
So the most Attackers can bank is 1,500 in the first battle, about 6,500 by the end of the second, and the rest comes down to the Golden Palace.
- Turrets (cannons) and Upgrade Devices sit next to the main targets. Holding them speeds up bomb planting (or defusing) and raises your siege value, so they're worth taking first.
- The bottom half of the map opens 20 minutes late (23:20). Plan which alliances hit the top half at 23:00 and who moves down at 23:20.
- Starting progress varies. Some buildings start with the bomb already near 90%, others near 20%. From about 80% a building can fall in roughly 4 minutes; from 20% it takes about 30.
- The Golden Palace starts at 50%. If the Defenders push it all the way to 0%, it gets a protective bubble and can't be attacked any more.
How bombs work
- Attackers garrison a building to raise its bomb progress. Defenders garrison it to lower progress and defuse it. Whoever holds the building moves the bar.
- Planting or defusing is fastest at the start: the speed drops (roughly 93/s down to about 37/s) after 2 minutes of uncontested control. Short, repeated swaps of control favour whoever can keep re-entering.
- To take a building you have to clear the other side's troops out of it first.
Faction buffs
The side that's behind gets help, so a big early lead shrinks a bit.
- Attackers start with +30% bomb planting speed. If their points are low going into week 3 or 4, they get extra planting speed, march speed and lower troop death rate.
- Defenders start with +20% march speed. If the Attackers have a lot of points, Defenders get faster defusing and lower troop death rate.
Battle-day rules
- Only the 8 grouped warzones can enter, and only during the Saturday battle hour. You can move into the centre 30 minutes early (from 22:30), but contaminated land stays locked until 23:00.
- Teleports: your first entry is free, and each side gets a free teleport again at set intervals. Extra entries cost Advanced Teleporters. HQ level 15 is needed.
- Marches are 70% slower in the battle zone and you can't use speed-ups on contaminated land. The War Leader skill "March in Badland" doesn't apply (this isn't Capitol Conquest).
- Emergency Center resets every Saturday, so you get a free heal of about 2,000 wounded troops on battle day.
- Season 5 city buffs you held are still active.
Strategy for Attackers (5 warzones)
- Assign every building before Saturday. With five servers, the danger is everyone piling onto the same target. Give each warzone, and each big alliance, its own buildings and a backup.
- Take the Turrets and Upgrade Devices first, then bomb the main building next to them.
- Hit high starting-progress buildings first. A building at 85% falls in minutes; one at 20% ties up your army for half the hour.
- Strike several targets at the same moment. Three servers can't defuse everything at once. Staggered attacks just let them rotate to each one.
- Don't chase a lost cause. If Defenders have pushed a building near 0%, move to an easier one and come back next week (progress carries over).
- Week 2 is your best chance. The 16 new buildings are worth almost 5,000 points together. Bank as many as you can, so the Golden Palace becomes a bonus rather than a must-win.
- Golden Palace week: capture its Turrets and Upgrade Devices, stack every planting bonus, and plant in waves so Defenders can't clear it in one push.
Strategy for Defenders (3 warzones)
- Protect points, not land. Let some Small Strongholds go (40 points each) to keep Military Fortresses (616) and the Golden Palace (3,505) safe.
- Keep a defusing squad on every high-value building. Defenders win by holding the bar down, and defusing is fastest in the first two minutes of control, so stay inside.
- Watch the 23:20 lower-half opening and have teams already marching down.
- Use your march speed bonus to rotate between buildings faster than the Attackers can.
- Push the Golden Palace to 0% if you can. At 0% it's sealed, and the Attackers lose their biggest source of points.
- Rotate fresh squads. You have fewer servers, so heal (Emergency Center), swap in rested players, and don't throw away troops in fights you can't win.
Getting your own rewards
Everyone earns personal rewards from Battle Points, whichever side wins:
- Weekly point chests (9 tiers) run from about 196K to 2.2M points and reset every week. Over the three battles they add up to roughly 2,100 Diamonds, 60,000 Honor, 60,000 Upgrade Ore, 6,600 Valor Badges, 486 SR Hero EXP Chests and 60 T11 Armament Cores.
- Capturing buildings is the best source of points. Move in right after your stronger players clear the defenders out.
- Attack players your size or weaker. Hitting wounded troops and weaker bases pays well. Pure defence earns very little.
- Don't turn your fences off; points come from attacking.
- Points only count during the battle hour, and they stop at 24:00, so claim your chests before midnight. The chest button is small, so find it before the battle starts.
Other rewards: per-building rewards for capturing (from 60 Diamonds for a Small Stronghold up to 500 for the Golden Palace), faction task milestones, individual and alliance rankings, and the final faction reward after week 4. Win or lose, the final reward gap is small (reported as 20 vs 15 UR Dominator Chests, 300 vs 200 Universal Speed-ups, 45,000 vs 30,000 Honor), so farm your personal chests every week no matter how the war is going.
Week-by-week checklist
Before every battle (Monday–Friday)
- Heal and train troops, save stamina, and stock Advanced Teleporters.
- R4s/R5s post the plan: which alliance takes which building, who rallies, who defuses, who scouts.
- Set up one shared channel (Discord or a group chat) across all servers on your side, with one war leader and a captain per sector.
- Agree on a ping for "building under attack" so help arrives fast.
Saturday
- Be online by 22:30 to use your free entry and get into position.
- Use the Emergency Center reset.
- 23:00: top-half buildings open. 23:20: bottom-half buildings open.
- Claim your point chests before 24:00.
Common mistakes
- Five Attacker servers all hitting the same building while others sit free.
- Ignoring Turrets and Upgrade Devices.
- Spreading three Defender servers across every building instead of guarding the valuable ones.
- Sending tired, half-healed squads back in instead of rotating.
- Forgetting to claim the weekly chests before midnight.
