Season 6: War Merit & Faction War Ranks
How War Merit works in Season 6, every way to earn it, and why spending it never hurts your rank.
War Merit is your personal score in Season 6. It does two jobs at once:
- It's a currency you spend in the War Merit Shop.
- It's a running total that sets your Faction War Rank.
The important part: spending War Merit in the shop does not lower your total. Your rank is based on everything you've ever earned, so there's no reason to hoard it.
Faction War Ranks
There are 19 ranks, starting at Recruit. Each rank up gives you:
- A better Daily Stipend (claim one right away when you're promoted; unclaimed stipends arrive by mail).
- Stronger War Rank buffs.
- At high ranks, titles, avatar frames and nameplates that apply immediately.
Some top ranks also need a weekly ranking, not just a total. Fall short and you can be demoted. When the season enters its Results stage, buffs stop, War Merit stops counting and rankings freeze.

Why it matters early
- Your War Merit rank decides Trade Post governors: the top 10 per warzone are chosen for the first opening.
- The 500,000 total War Merit Season Goal is reported to award the UR Hero Badge needed to promote Braz to UR (see Hero Awakening & Braz UR).
- The Extra War Merit profession skill adds up to +5% War Merit from donations (see Profession Skills).
Best shop buys
- Bait (200 each, up to 10 a day). More fishing means more donations, which means more War Merit.
- Rainforest Mushrooms (100 per 10K, up to 80 a day) for your Spore Factories.
- Spore once it appears in Week 2.
At season end, leftover War Merit converts into Profession EXP, so nothing is wasted.
