Season 6 Week 1 Quick Start
The first-week priorities for Season 6: profession, Spore Factories, Fungus Institute, first kills and the War Merit Shop.
Week 1 sets your pace for the whole season. Here's the order most experienced players follow.
Before you do anything else
- Switch to Engineer. Use a profession reset token if you need one. Engineer's resource saving also lowers seasonal building costs. (Details in Profession Skills.)
- Take Building Inspiration in the seasonal skill tree for extra Profession EXP from season buildings.
- Keep a builder free. The first few season building levels are quick, but later ones need a builder.
Day 1 checklist
- Visit your daily Visitor: about 10 Bait and a pile of Rainforest Mushrooms every day.
- Open saved Hero's Return tickets in the Legend Returns tab. They can drop Mushrooms, and they lose value fast after Week 1.
- Claim pre-stacked Radar missions.
- First kills: beat the highest-level Rainforest Zombies and Doom Elites you can. First kills pay Mushrooms, Spore and War Merit. Only your highest first kill matters, so don't waste stamina on lower ones.
- Rally Doom Elites if your Virus Resistance is too low to solo them. The rally leader's Virus Resistance counts for everyone, so pick the leader carefully.
Build order
Fungus Institute to level 4 first. That opens the War Merit Shop.
Then the Spore Factories:
- Build Factory I and level it until Factory II unlocks.
- Repeat until all four permanent factories are open.
- After that, level them evenly, one level at a time across all four.
- Claim production often so storage doesn't cap out.
The Fungus Institute sets your Virus Resistance. If you're blocked from a first kill or getting crushed at Fishing Grounds, put Spore into the Institute next.
The War Merit Shop
- Bait: 200 War Merit each, up to 10 per day.
- Rainforest Mushrooms (10K): 100 War Merit each, up to 80 per day.
- Spore is added from Week 2.
Spending War Merit does not lower your War Merit total for ranks or leaderboards, so shop freely. See War Merit & Faction War Ranks.
Also in Week 1
- Beneath the Ruins starts on day 2, with one new stage each day.
- Kimberly's Awakening opens. See Hero Awakening.
- Purge Action (9 days): kill the highest-level world map zombies you can for daily leaderboard rewards. Better Virus Resistance means better rewards.
- City Clash: levels 1–2 Cities unlock.
Spending options (optional)
- The Season Pass Advanced and Premium tiers let you claim objectives twice.
- The Weekly Pass adds a temporary fifth Spore Factory while it's active.
Common mistakes
- Using the Doom Walker first kill before the season update.
- Holding Hero's Return tickets past Week 1.
- Forgetting the daily Visitor.
- Forgetting to claim War Spoils once Faction Tech unlocks them. There's no reminder.
